Are you into sustainable food? Do you like drinking delicious craft beer? Does your stomach beg you to feed it deliciously cooked dishes from top-notch restaurant chefs? If you answered Yes to all three of these questions, then you're going to love 'Brewers Plate' Toronto. This event can be summed up in one short sentence; local, sustainable spring feast featuring Toronto’s brewers, chefs, food artisans and farmers. Here's the scoop on how it all works. You buy a ticket online by clicking here, then you show up at the event (April 17 - 6:30 @ Hart House), meet other people who enjoy good food and beer, meet the chefs who are preparing the food you're eating and listen to a live band. In mathematical terms, Food + Beer + Music = A great time. 'Brewers Plate' is hosted by 'Green Enterprise Toronto' and 'Slow Food Toronto' - both advocates for local and sustainable food and drink.

If you're not familiar with Craft beer, there's a real treat to be had. Forget that mass market swill you've been drinking your whole life. Throw away your prejudices - beer can actually taste delicious. If made locally and in small batches, brewers can omit preservatives, control the process and be more creative in terms of flavour and quality. The care that these craft/micro brewers take in making their beer really comes through in the finished product. Several Ontario Craft Brewers will be present at this year's 'Brewers Plate'. Black Oak, Cameron's, Great Lakes, Mill Street, Steam Whistle and Wellington will all make appearances as accompanying beverages to the featured food available at the event.

Don't be fooled though; neither the beer or the food take a back seat. Both stand out because of their quality and taste. Come to Brewers Plate for the food, come for the beer or come for both. You'll leave with and full stomach, a tipsy stagger and a better understanding/appreciation of sustainable food and craft beer.
